The ability to create synthetic organs has long been desired in medicine. If we could make synthetic organs for patients from their own cells, we could replace injured or damaged organs without risking the body rejecting the organ. This would have huge implications for the treatment of liver and kidney diseases, among others. For years, scientists have tried to perfect this technology but have been unable to solve the blood flow problem that has made the creation of synthetic organs impossible.

In the last few weeks, a group of scientists appear to have found the solution to this problem or, at least, a major part of it [1].

Designer Carlo Ratti Associati has unveiled the “Feel the Peel”, a combo orange juicer/3D printer that makes bioplastic cups out of leftover orange peels.

A new Council on Foreign Relations Report concludes that the U.S. better put in place a national innovation strategy if it is to keep its world-leading position against its number one challenger, China.

Summary Students are introduced to the historical motivation for space exploration. They learn about the International Space Station as an example of space travel innovation and are introduced to new and futuristic ideas that space engineers are currently working on to propel space research far into the future!

Israel recently offered a first taste of its planned pavilion at the Expo 2020 in Dubai, under the headline “Towards tomorrow,” that hopes to showcase Israeli innovation to the Arab World and beyond.

A short clip posted on several of the Foreign Ministry’s social media accounts shows a simulation of the pavilion, which is described as an “icon, hope and aspiration” and appears to focus on Israeli innovation and technology.

The years have passed, and now those little septuplets are young adults, making them the oldest surviving septuplets. What a journey it has been for the McCaughey family.

It seems natural to have a baby, and recently it has become natural to take advantage of medical innovation to help you get there. In the case of women who can’t fall pregnant, there are some different methods of getting there. Fertility treatment isn’t uncommon and it is practiced in many countries across the globe. Even though it is an accepted method in many places, there are those that aren’t in favor of it. Some religious groups believe that it is against God’s will to interfere with the natural course of creating life. Their claim is that if God wants to give life he will, and if it is not meant to be then it will not materialize.
