The recipient of the worldâs first Neuralink brain-chip transplant is able to control a computer mouse by thinking, the tech startupâs founder Elon Musk announced this week.
âProgress is good, and the patient seems to have made a full recovery, with no ill effects that we are aware of,â Reuters reported that Musk said in an X Spaces event on Monday. âPatient is able to move a mouse around the screen by just thinking.â
Musk added that Neuralink was trying to get the patient to click the mouse as much as possible, Reuters reported.
The billionaireâs brain device company is currently recruiting patients in the US, UK and Canada.
Musk said he thinks Neuralink will âsolve a lot of brain-related diseases,â naming autism and schizophrenia as examples. Autism is not a disease.
Elon Musk has set the expectations for SpaceXâs sixth test flight of Starship with four objectives that must be achieved in order for the launch to be considered a success.
