Susan L. Singer, SCPM

Susan L. Singer, SCPM is Principal at Susan Singer Consulting and Founder, Owner at The Bio Pharm LinkedIn Group.
 
Susan is a native Californian with a passion for science and technology dating to her earliest exposures to inquiry at a Montessori preschool. In the course of pursuing her undergraduate degree, Susan enrolled in numerous science electives, ranging from archaeology to genetics to psychology to meteorology. Upon graduating, she was hired by a biotech startup; it was there that she commenced applying project management principles to technological projects. This application was later transferred to CAD/CAM, optical, survey research, and nanoscience fields of endeavor.
 
Susan has also been engaged in STEM education. Activities have included co-teaching math at a fifth-grade gifted magnet school, general science for home-schooled students (including their participation in Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s Alvin Project), teaching computer technology to at-risk young adults, and incorporating nano concepts through a National Center for Learning and Teaching. She possesses the gift of being able to digest technical matter and presenting it at an appropriate level for a target audience.
 
In recent years, she has branched out into organizational governance and policy. She is skilled in strategic planning and aligning execution to fulfillment of organizations’ missions toward their vision. In a recent role as Manager of Governance for a large medical association, she worked hand-in-glove with the Society’s Board of Directors and contributed toward numerous achievements in process improvement, including those related to review and update of medical Standards, Guidelines & Statements publications, practice parameters, and policy statements.
 
A veteran writer, editor, and educator, Susan has combined her varied interests in the sciences, organizational management, and policy into an unparalleled skill set that yields measurable results for the employer. A life-long learner, she earned her Advanced Project Manager certification from Stanford University in 2010.
 
She authored Should Non-Profits Be Managed Like Their For-Profit Counterparts?, Made in America: An Idea Whose Time Has Returned, Doing Well By Doing Good, and Project Management in the Research Environment.
