Peter Platzer, MBA, MSc
Peter Platzer,
MBA, MSc is a high-energy physicist who spent time at CERN prior to
attending Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.
Originally from Austria, he was a strategy consultant for the Boston
Consulting Group in Europe and Asia, working on strategies for global
Financial Services companies and developing an expertise in exchanges
and capital market structures. This — and his long-standing
software
design and development experience — he brought to bear on Wall
Street as
a quantitative investment professional when he joined the then-start-up
hedge fund, The Rohatyn Group, today a multi-billion dollar Emerging
Market Hedge fund with offices on 4 continents.
Always on the forefront of technology, Peter went to Singularity
University’s inaugural Executive Program in 2009 and realized the
growing economic potential in the private space sector. He is currently
a consultant at NASA Ames’ Space Portal, bringing to bear his research
and knowledge in the Nanosatellite sector that was acquired during the
graduate program at the International Space University.
His latest
endeavor,
Nanosatisfi, is making space exploration available to the
masses by reducing the cost several orders of magnitude, and
crowdsourcing experiment development through web apps. In his spare time
he loves to sing classical music and hike in the mountains, the higher
the better.
