Dr. Lennart van Haaften
Lennart van
Haaften, Ph.D. is Postdoctoral researcher at Texas Tech University
where he’s working in the field of high-energy astrophysics at the
Department of Physics. Topics include black hole X-ray binaries and
the effect of chemical composition on X-ray binaries.
He’s also writer at Visionair.nl,
a Dutch website offering news and ideas for a better future.
Lennart is fascinated by the natural world and wants to understand how it
works. He specializes in modeling and data analysis of physical
phenomena in astronomy and the Earth’s climate.
Furthermore, he’s interested in science and technology, their
development, and their critical role in shaping humanity’s future. In
this regard, he writes about various scientific and philosophical topics.
Lennart’s papers include
The evolution of ultracompact X-ray binaries,
Formation of the planet around the millisecond pulsar J1719-1438,
Long-term luminosity behavior of 14 ultracompact X-ray binaries,
Ultracompact X-ray binary stars,
Population synthesis of ultracompact X-ray binaries in the Galactic Bulge,
Time-resolved X-Shooter spectra and RXTE light curves of the ultra-compact X-ray binary candidate 4U 0614+091, and
Initial data release of the Kepler-INT Survey.
