Jeroen Cappaert,
MSc is payload engineer and cofounder at
NanoSatisfi and is currently at NASA Ames doing
research on CubeSat avionics.
NanoSatisfi aims to make space exploration accessible for the masses and
provides affordable high tech and space education for everyone. They
give you a satellite with a camera and multiple sensors on it to run
your own experiments in space along with providing affordable hands on
space education.
Jeroen studied Mathematics – Sciences at
Sint-Jozef-Klein-Seminarie, Belgium from 2000 to 2006.
He earned his BSc in Mechanical Engineering (minor Electrical
engineering) at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium in 2009.
He earned his MSc (Cum Laude) in Mechanical Engineering with a focus
on aerospace engineering and numerical methods in mechanics and
fluid dynamics at
Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 2011.
He completed his master thesis on “Uncertainty quantification for
hypersonic flow simulation” at the
Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics, Belgium in 2011.
He earned his MSc in Space Studies at the
International Space University in 2012.
Jeroen has research
and engineering experience on numerous subjects such as high-enthalpy
flows, finite element methods, orbital dynamics, large space-based
structures, and CubeSats among others.
