Jay McIntosh, MSc.
is President of
Consumer Foresight, an organization dedicated to
improving the future by promoting the effective use of foresight in
business and education. He is also a member of the faculty at the
University of Notre Dame where he teaches a course on
foresight.
Prior
to forming Consumer Foresight, Jay was Americas Director of Consumer
Products for a Big Four accounting firm where he was responsible for the
group’s strategy, quality initiatives, thought leadership and for
developing and overseeing relationships with many of the largest and
best-known retail and consumer products companies in America. During
his 22 years at the firm, he served clients such as Nordstrom, Kohl’s,
Walmart, Wrigley, Whirlpool, Sears, and Target.
Jay is a frequent speaker on consumer trends and is widely quoted by the
media. He has been interviewed for or appeared on “The Today
Show” (NBC),
“Closing Bell” (CNBC), “Squawk Box” (CNBC), “Power Lunch” (CNBC), “CNN
Headline News”, “MSNBC News”, The New York Times, Wall Street
Journal,
Financial Times, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles
Times,
“First
Business” (syndicated), CBS Network Radio, AP Radio, Wall Street Journal
Network Radio, and Dow Jones News Service. He has presented at events
such as The Asia Pacific Fashion Forum, the Wharton China Business
Forum, the Harvard China Review, and the Annual Conference of the World
Future Society.
Jay earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of
Illinois and a master’s of science in taxation from DePaul University.
For the past five years he has been President of Chicago Youth Programs,
Inc., an organization dedicated to improving the life opportunities of
at-risk youths. He is also on the Board of Directors of the World
Future Society.
