Daniel A. Schmitt
is Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer of AAQ and the founder of
The Incubation Factory (TIF).
From 1993 to 2003, AAQ operated as a holding company of internally
financed business initiatives creating early experience for Dan Schmitt
that led to The Incubation Factory Processes of today. A total of 8
companies were started with zero investment from outside sources. This
includes three companies that grew at a rate to make the Inc. 500 list
of Fastest Growing Private companies highlighted with Advanced Business
Fulfillment which ranked #23 nationally, #1 in Missouri, and was sold to
WebMD in 2003.
Dan was the mastermind of AAQ and ABF business models and the architect
of a methodology for creating new business initiatives. In 2005, he
combined his expertise in business development, administration, finance,
and marketing, to create The Incubation Factory — a privately funded
business incubator. Dan earned a B.A. in Marketing from the University
of Northern Iowa in 1989. He resides in Naples, FL with his wife, Jen,
and their two children.
Dan’s primary roles as CEO are setting company strategy and vision,
creating company culture, and supporting the TIF executive team. Dan
participates in the evaluation and selection of all portfolio companies
and takes an active role in strategic consulting and business model
development of each incubated company. He is an investor in all of TIF’s
incubated companies.
From 2003 to 2006, AAQ incubated companies which were to become the core
service companies of TIF as well as select companies for early stage
validation of the TIF model. Since Mid-2006, 12 new companies have
formed under the TIF umbrella and are enjoying various levels of market
success.
From Late 2006 to present, Dan has been creating the infrastructure to
launch
Open Source Capitalism, a system that aligns incentives with a
global network of entrepreneurs with the goal of unleashing global
innovation in a decentralized fashion.
