Dr. Clinton “Cosmo” Mielke

Clinton “Cosmo” Mielke, Ph.D. is Founder of Infinome.
 
Cosmo’s current research interests include the genetic basis of obesity (specifically in genes that regulate overall metabolism), eating behavior, and sleep. His Infinome is a nonprofit organization that uses quantified-self equipment to gather information in order to identify and cure chronic diseases.
 
His papers include Botnets, and the CyberCriminal Underground, A computational investigation of potential coronographic polarimetry observations aboard the Terrestrial Planet Finder, AMASS: a database for investigating protein structures, Mapping Dark Web Geolocation, Adenine Nucleotide Translocase Is Acetylated in Vivo in Human Muscle: Modeling Predicts a Decreased ADP Affinity and Altered Control of Oxidative Phosphorylation, and Differential expression of microRNAs as predictors of glioblastoma phenotypes.
 
Cosmo was previously Research Associate at Mayo Clinic; Research Associate at Biodesign Institute, Arizona State University; Analyst at The Shadowserver Foundation; Staff Researcher at Artificial Intelligence Lab, The University of Arizona; Software Engineer at NASA Ames Research Center; Scientist at Steward Observatory; Scientific Programmer at Arecibo Observatory; and Planetarium Operator at Flandrau Science Center.
 
Cosmo earned his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Astronomy, Physics, and Mathematics at the University of Arizona in 2007. He earned his Ph.D. in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology at the Biodesign Institute / Mayo Clinic in 2013 with the dissertation Towards A Systems Biology: Understanding of Metabolic Syndrome.
