Amy L.
Stapleton, Ph.D. is
Enterprise Applications Software Development Manager at NASA and author
of
On Astronaut Wings.
Amy is an author of speculative fiction and a current resident of the
“Rocket City”, Huntsville, Alabama. She is a computer software
professional and has worked as a software programmer and Project Manager
in both Germany and the United States. Her debut novel
On Astronaut Wings weaves together the themes of spaceflight,
personal happiness and
fulfillment, and the mysteries of the universe.
Amy is currently the Manager of Application Development and Software
Assurance at NASA’s Enterprise Applications Competency Center. She led
the Competency Center’s transition to the use of Agile Scrum beginning
in the Fall of 2006. Prior to her current role, She worked as a
Technical Lead on NASA’s multi-year Integrated Financial Management
Program. Before joining NASA, she was a technical consultant focused
primarily on custom software development for the SAP product suite.
She earned her B.A. in English at University of North Carolina at
Greensboro, her M.A. in German, Comparative Literature at
the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her Ph.D.
in Germanic Languages and Literature at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison.
