Article I just wrote about how going to Mars is actually good for protecting life on Earth, too.

People often lump going to Mars or the Moon into a this/that fight when it comes to bettering the life of the Earth and its inhabitants. But, it’s not that simple.

The technology we master in the pursuit of space colonization (starti n g at the Moon and Mars / space stations) will serve to advance that on Earth. The things we learn will help provide a guide for what to do on this future planet, and not just life beyond it. Sure, in-situ resource utilization/production will generate rocket fuel on extraterrestrial bodies. But, things like the NASA Kilopower nuclear reactor can lay the groundwork for alternative energies deployed on Earth at scale. I imagine thorium reactors will follow suit while we still try to deploy fusion at a consumer scale and not just a research basis.

That’s just energy. Now picture 3D printing habitat development and how that can impact production of low-cost housing on Earth and construction projects that can have shapes previously thought impossible or too-high a cost that are more efficient and allow for artists to sculpt new buildings like a sculpture rather than a boring block.

Latest article chronicling my entrepreneurial journey and how anyone can be successful and change the world. You need only look at the Lifeboat Foundation to see that entrepreneurs can turn their wealth into instigators for change!

YawLife is an embodiment of my life… All of my struggles, all of my mistakes, all of my pain, and all of my perseverance through in-fortitude to reach the pinnacle I’m at now, where the fruits of my labour are finally beginning to flourish, and where the seeds sowed in the past have begun to grown roots, which shall outlast even my own passing. To me, YawLife is not about just building a company and selling instantaneously. It’s about endowing my life’s work to make it successful. To reward those who believed in me early once I’ve succeeded, to reward the world for their choice to use our service, and to reward myself with, at the very least, the pride in creating something from nothing… Because, to do such a thing, is not a simple task. You can try as much as possible, and for all that effort, nothing may arise from it, but…

It is in the journey of creation that brings true elation to one’s soul — an inner fulfilment beyond what any odd job or person can spark within.

I think it is determination like this that is required to build something successful. And by successful, I don’t mean billions or millions of dollars. The scale of what you deem success to be will vary between you and me, and the expectation of society. But…

The Human Existential Crises We Can All Overcome https://spanish.lifeboat.com/blog/2016/08/the-human-existential-crises-we-can-all-overcome Wed, 31 Aug 2016 10:47:48 +0000 http://lifeboat.com/blog/2016/08/the-human-existential-crises-we-can-all-overcome

Latest article on my pursuit in the quest to preserve human existence.

It’s 2AM. Sleep eludes my dreary mind… Its tiredness a burden weighing down upon my eyelids, yet it’s very relinquishing aspect of giving oneself up to the night feels like a waste of time. In this race that is so close to the finish line, it has felt easy to procrastinate, and focus in areas that don’t truly matter. Maybe it’s my soul trying to find some form of semblance in the continuity of this multi-year struggle — to succeed and better the world — that it has decided to distract itself. But tonight, I am awake. I slept not the night before, and a mere 3 hours asleep prefaces this incitement, to write this history of my challenges and happenings in the making of my company — one that I believe could one day truly be part of the saving grace of mankind.

I do not consider myself a prophet, nor do I think that anyone is less capable of achieving their dreams than I am, but I do believe that I am fortunate enough to be at the right time, at the right place, with the right people surrounding me and the luck bred from adversity and consistent lessons born from failure to make YawLife a reality. It is no longer a matter of how or if it will come into being. For, it is a living incarnation of light in and of itself, from the minds of many, sparked by the thoughts of dreams-met-real. It is simply the ticking of time, the clock in-itself a personal doomsday to all of us. Now, I do not mean some religious event, and while I won’t rule out a cosmic one, I see mankind on a path to annihilation if we do not redeem ourselves and change our ways.

Through peace and prosperity the world over, fuelled by advances in technology and its impact upon the present and future, we have 2 sides of the same coin that contain both affinity and destruction. We as a species must choose not to falter and mistake the latter as some form of solution, when the former holds within it a brightness too light to dim. My mission in life is to realize that while our species has a clock counting down, that we can stop the clock before it’s too late. However, in doing so, the other clock which dictates our personal livelihoods (our continued existence) will never cease to fail until science finds an answer to the problem of death… But, even if we don’t find a solution in our lifetime, I would rather spend it doing all that I can to change this world and morph it such that we can continue our journey as human beings, both into the earth, and beyond it to the farthest of stars.

Mars Colonisation Transportation: Project Revelation Before Rumours https://spanish.lifeboat.com/blog/2016/07/mars-colonisation-transportation-project-revelation-before-rumours Tue, 12 Jul 2016 01:47:43 +0000 http://lifeboat.com/blog/2016/07/mars-colonisation-transportation-project-revelation-before-rumours

Translated this intriguing article for English readers about our soon to occur Mars-Colonisation, and prospective announcements at the upcoming SpaceX Event!

In our analysis of end 2015 (available on our website, and its summary in the English section) we tried to discern what might look like the project SpaceX Mars Colonization Transportation (MCT), Elon Musk has finally unveiled Sept. 27 at the next International Astronautical Congress. This year included the meagre clues gleaned from the various statements of the contractor, some alter the previous information (eg abandonment of multi-body launcher formula type Falcon Heavy) or, coercion, seemed to confirm the fundamental options such as refuelling earth parking orbit by a second launcher, the total reuse and descent of March of the entire interplanetary shuttle ( “landing the whole thing”). Since then, other indications of various origins have appeared on fans forums. Examine their possible significance.

The choice single-body launcher recoverable and we had driven to approach the performance target (100 T Payload deposited on Mars) to increase the diameter of the drive bay 15 m, although it seemed sufficient to limit that of upstairs itself to 12.5m (pm the first two stages of the Saturn 5 moon had a diameter of 10 m). This configuration allowed to stay a maximum of 31 engines of 300 T thrust and achieve take-off weight (GLOW) 7750 T. Unfortunately, the shape flared rear of the first floor, certainly favourable to the stability phase of ascent, is very unfavourable for the return (flight in opposite direction), especially since it has less then effective ways to stabilise the trajectory. Since it is difficult to imagine that we can reduce the GLOW and therefore the take-off thrust, the solution is to increase the diameter of the whole floor to 15 m. Now it is one of the rumours on forums “MCT-geeks”; SpaceX had solicited tooling suppliers for this diameter.

At the time, it evoked a Raptor 250 Tf thrust (optimal size for mass according SpaceX). Wishing nevertheless not to increase the number of engines (compared to what is allowed with the Falcon Heavy), we considered it necessary to increase the engine thrust to 300 Tf, that remained liveable in the 15 m the Bay. The problem is that even with this power, the desired performance is not achieved (unless we assume our assumptions about the structure of the masses too pessimistic shuttle); Indeed there were 90 T CU (referred to 100) and more in the most favourable conditions: Mars at perihelion and transfer long (Hohmann). But a noise is that SpaceX would work on a Raptor 700 Tf! This level of unit thrust would exceed the planned takeoff thrust, reached with 13 of these engines easily Lodgeable. Given the performance deficit, we can imagine that SpaceX, once the diameter of 15 m admitted, will seek to accommodate the maximum engine.

Blockchain World Government Through a DAO https://spanish.lifeboat.com/blog/2016/06/blockchain-world-gov Wed, 29 Jun 2016 21:00:21 +0000 http://lifeboat.com/blog/?p=27371 connected-world-article

Blockchain World Government Through a DAO

Imagine a world of unison, unbridled innovation, and international cooperation beyond our wildest dreams, where democracy reins supreme, with each person a voice in every decision, if they so choose –like an election — except for every measure put into practice by the government. Now, imagine this on a global scale, where a world government comprised of elected officials is run through the blockchain and a Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO).

Since the blockchain is a public ledger that can only grow, where the past cannot be changed (just as time cannot be reversed), and this most secure of all technologies allows for a unique private +public key to be associated with every human on the planet (which can be stored offline like a SIN card), all of a sudden, a new era would be upon us. We would no longer be the children waging wars and spats over insignificant issues, or disregarding the ways of diplomacy for unnecessary loss of life and turmoil. Along with a new birth certificate or with proof of 2 pieces of existing identification, we could all have a unique LIFE ID # assigned and voice how such a government would operate. Each decision — instead of the singular election of the decision makers — would be handled by the guardians of the system: each and every human on Earth. With contributions by every country, we could retain our national identity, whilst also recognising the planetary singularity we all share.

Because, after all, when we view the world from space, there are no borders. When we work together on projects like the Large Hadron Collider, we make groundbreaking discoveries like the God Particle, and even invent miniature black holes that evaporate, proving the truth of theories long-since-contested. It may be a scare to some, to have their world turned upside down, in a sense. It might make them feel as if they’re losing freedom, rather than gaining it, when the opposite is the real case. Hence why such a government could combine the voting on issues of a certain nation, and adhere only to those with a LIFE ID # in that geographical region, yet still allow for everyone to vote on issues when it affects the world as a whole. We could still retain our national identities, and the respective pride and voice in them, but we would become stronger as a species, and fund things that truly matter, with the combined wealth of all adding up to immense sums.

With sheer pennies allocated to the space industry, which has brought $1,000 to the economy for each dollar spent on it, we could use this newly-founded government to pay for a worldwide space program, where we share our technologies, and work towards the overall betterment of it, speed-setting the advancement of our species. Now, while the DAO that was recently the largest crowd-funded initiative in the world has had a rocky beginning, we can work out the kinks in the system, and fix the bugs that could lead to exploits.

Through combined efforts, we can build a blockchain application that fuels an irrefutably-authentic proposal/voting mechanism, where the choices affecting the world are made by the world.

To ensure that that the right decisions are made, and avoid a BREXIT-like issue, voting on proposals would need to surpass more than a single percent majority. It would need to involve a higher degree of confidence by the global society as a whole, such as a 60–66% favour of any referendums passed, rather than a measly 51%. This would ensure that those who forget to vote, or don’t get a chance to (for whatever reason), are not necessarily a cause for a drastic or minuscule change to be made, that lacks the best interests of the people at heart (although, the system would work best when the majority participate, which might involve some form of incentive mechanism — just as the bitcoin miners get paid fees for contributing their processing power to the network. A similar method could be put in place, albeit with minute processing power provided per device, so as to not drain battery power and have excessive internet usage, and no need for the entire blockchain to be downloaded (as such a task could take weeks or simply be impossible through mobile devices (the same devices that are often the only point of internet access for individuals in developing nations)).

Ultimately, it would take years of planning to put together the ‘perfect’ system, and even then, it wouldn’t be without its faults. But, it’s better than a world divided and uncooperative, especially at a time when we face the gravest problems on the grandest scale humanity has ever encountered. The rising and polluted oceans, the mass death of marine life, the changing climate, the unbeknown possibility of a grid-collapsing solar flare, or asteroid that renders electricity and computers to bricks, and/or devastates highly-populated regions with a mass impact… These problems are all solvable, and we can become a multi-planetary, space-fairing species, capable of defending our planet, and improving its ecosystems before the the 11th hour ends. Survival through adaptation and symbiosis with nature is crucial to our very existence. And collaboration through multi-national efforts is the cornerstone to the betterment the world needs, and the survival of humanity… Our future generations deserve a life to live. As such, I, for one, see no reason not to vote in favour of this ideology. Because we are one people, able to reach this guarded steeple to remain peaceful.

We are connected to our brothers and sisters across the cosmos. Our energy, our inner passions, our shared potential to live in unison — it does not stem from learning a new acceptance, but rather rediscovering our own roots as a species. We foraged in the early years, we lived amongst the plentiful variety of earth-dwellers. We have grown into our own exile, abandoning the posts of our olden days’ struggle-for-survival to a comfortable, modern lifestyle. It’s not all bad, for there is beauty in the discoveries science holds. But as a species, we need to remember our past failures (as a cautionary tale) if we ever want to evolve to see the cosmic atmosphere and survive as the years surpass. And to communicate and understand, overcoming our deep-rooted fears for things that are different. Because different shouldn’t be scary. We fear spiders and the dark because they have no match for what they are; spiders have nothing like them, and the darkness shields the naked eye from both friend and foe. But as we learn to see these fears in a different perspective, we realise that through technology and new ways of understanding, we can surpass our darkest moments and live a brighter day, piercing the overcast with the rays of our ambitions, and the feelings of a new warmth within our soul. For that is the goal of a connected world, through a global government made official, to be beneficial for all.

LIFE, Business & the Butterfly Effect https://spanish.lifeboat.com/blog/2016/06/life-business-the-butterfly-effect Sat, 25 Jun 2016 22:47:50 +0000 http://lifeboat.com/blog/2016/06/life-business-the-butterfly-effect

How we can influence the butterfly effect to better our personal endeavours (article I just wrote).

It’s funny, when we look around at our daily lives, we begin to see the things which reflect us. Our environment breeds our mindset. Our aptitude becomes driven by the exponential increase of clutter or minimalism, by work, or by passions. We each have the opportunity to create our own atmosphere, ensuring we surround ourselves by the people and places which foster an eminent light within us. This fire ignites the desire to reach our potential, present in the opportunity the future holds. Like a dream that feels all too real, our life can have many outcomes that lead to the predictable… or the unknown. We are each given a myriad amount of choices — varying in amplitude — which culminate to provide a chance at betterment… or the opposing force. We are given the responsibility to define that road ahead. By making the most of every minuscule and prominent decision, the balance will tip in our favor. People often fail to see this metric… that each choice has a butterfly affect across the horizon of time. Kindness can have a lasting impact. It can make the difference between life and death — success — or failure — because it is the most assured way of bettering the souls of yourself and others.

When we take the path of most resistance, it often starts with countless hurtles, and intermittent mountains along the way. The frontier is never easy, but it always comes with vast rewards to those who can brave it. Each day of life is another battle, and when you have within your mind a war-zone that plagues your focus, it can seem an impossible feat to overcome. But… so was creating fire, then harnessing power, then driving, then flying and exploring space. It never stopped us before, and it should never stop us now. It might start with an adjustment of priorities, of things which eclipse your sight on a consistent basis. It can be searching for more about your passion, and looking into bridging the gap between your interests and your life.

To attain your aspirations, you must set goals for your dreams, and follow suit with the effort and plans necessary. When you think that there’s something you wish was in the world, you need only make it. You can take feedback from people to back up the value of your ideas, and refine them accordingly. Family and friends can have a skewed perspective that they believe is in your favor, but in reality is quite the opposite. You should talk to strangers and gain their insight into your business. Once the general public believes in what you’re doing, you know you’re on the right track. If you’re too lazy to come up with an idea yourself, spark it by asking others what they wished existed, and go from there. Then give up at nothing to make it successful. It can take months (but more likely years) to see it through. But in the end, this time will be made up with freedom to explore, to travel the world and relax once you’ve created a sustainable business.
