AI companies are swiftly running into a massive problem: there isn’t enough data on the internet to train the next generation of models.

More proof most people are full of it, in case you needed more proof.

But people were bad at assessing whether images were made by artificial intelligence or an artist.

When people were challenged to debate contentious topics with a human or GPT-4, they were more likely to be won over by the artificial intelligence.

Amazon is reportedly planning to spend a whopping $150 billion within the next 15 years on building data centers — a move that will position the tech giant to be able to handle an expected explosion with artificial intelligence applications and other digital services.

The spending spree, earlier reported on by Bloomberg, will also allow Amazon to maintain its top spot in the cloud services market, where it holds roughly twice the share of No. 2 player Microsoft.

“We’re expanding capacity quite significantly,” said Kevin Miller, a vice president at AWS, or Amazon Web Services, Amazon’s cloud computing subsidiary used by upwards of 1.45 million businesses, according to an internal report.

Amazon is betting big on Anthropic even as it plans to compete with it.

According to insiders, Microsoft and OpenAI are planning to build a $100 billion supercomputer called “Stargate” to massively accelerate the development of OpenAI’s AI models, The Information reports.

Microsoft and OpenAI executives are forging plans for a data center with a supercomputer made up of millions of specialized server processors to accelerate OpenAI’s AI development, according to three people who took part in confidential talks.

The project, code-named “Stargate,” could cost as much as $100 billion, according to one person who has spoken with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman about it and another who has seen some of Microsoft’s initial cost estimates.

1/ Services like HeyGen and arcads.ai let you make “digital avatars” that can talk in sync with their lips, speak different languages, and move and gesture naturally.

2/ The high quality of these AI-made videos makes it hard for even supposed experts to tell fakes from real ones.

Just as AI-generated photos can look very realistic, there are now AI-generated videos that are almost indistinguishable from real video.

AR-Smart glasses: 2029. Will look like just a normal pair of sunglasses. All normal smartphone type features. Built in AI systems. Set up for some VR stuff. An built in earbud / mic, for calls, music, talking to Ai, etc… May need a battery pack, we ll see in 2029.

The smart glasses will soon come with a built-in assistant.

Anthropic’s Claude 3 Opus has knocked OpenAI’s GPT-4 off the top of the chatbot leaderboard for the first time.

According to the Chatbot Arena Leaderboard, Anthropic’s Claude 3 Opus has taken the top spot from OpenAI’s GPT-4 for the first time. Claude 3 Opus now ranks first based on how real people rate chatbot skills. GPT-4 has been pushed down to second place.

The Chatbot Arena is a benchmark platform created by the Large Model System Organization (LMSYS) to compare the performance of large language models. The Arena pits different models against each other in secret, randomized battles. Users rate the models and vote for the answer they like best. This makes the rankings very useful because they are based on what users prefer.
